School closings and delays for students at BCCI are based upon closing and delay decisions made for base high school districts.
GUIDES FOR REMOTE LEARNING DAYS
If all Buncombe County Schools are closed, students do not report to BCCI for high school classes.
If a base school district is closed, it will be closed to all students who reside in that district. There will be no announcement specific to BCCI for a closing or delay so students are expected to follow their base school district closing or delay.
For example, if the Owen district is closed, students that live in the Owen district would not report to school.
BCCI students will not report to school if either their base school or A-B Tech are closed.
If BCCI students are taking A-B Tech courses and BCCI is closed but A-B Tech is open, they are expected to report to A-B Tech classes if they can do so safely. If students do not feel they can safely report to class, they are expected to contact the instructor.
Delay Schedules
Two Hour Delay
Block 1 - 10:30 - 11:15
Students report to second block, then
Lunch - 11:20 - 11:50 (To cafe with 2nd block teacher)
Block 2 - 12:00 - 12:55
Block 4 - 1:00 - 2:05
Bus Dismissal - 2:00
Block 5 - 2:10 - 3:45
Students always need to check A-B Tech's schedule for any weather related delays.
