Booze, Sarah- Visual Arts

Welcome to

Visual Arts Page!

Art Teacher
My name is Sarah Booze and I am the Visual Arts teacher at Enka Intermediate School.
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art from Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC where my focus was oil painting. After Salem, I spent a year in Florence, Italy studying painting, design, and printmaking intensively at Studio Art College International. In 2017, I completed my Masters
at Western Carolina University.

Before teaching, I spent many years working as a graphic designer. Through my experience as a designer, I came to realize that the habits and skills acquired in the art studio are incredibly valuable outside of the classroom. Art class fosters creativity, encourages innovation, and provides students with the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to become lifelong learners and thrive in our fast-paced culture and rapidly evolving workforce.

Art class is on a wheel rotation, and lasts for a 9 week period. In art, your child will learn about artists that are currently practicing and be exposed to various methods of art making including drawing, painting, printmaking, fibers, design, and sculpture. In my art room, students of all abilities and backgrounds will find success and I look forward to having your child in my class!
