Mrs. Carleene Finger

Mrs. Finger has been a principal in Buncombe County since 2008, having served in that capacity at Leicester Elementary School since 2011. Before becoming principal at Leicester Elementary, Mrs. Finger was the principal at Charles C. Bell Elementary and Assistant principal at Candler Elementary. Prior to coming to BCS in 2007, she began working in public education in Haywood County Schools in 1995 as a special education teacher before transitioning to a lead teacher/curriculum coordinator in 2002. Mrs. Finger has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from North Carolina‐Chapel Hill, a Master of Arts degree in Special Education from Appalachian State University, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Western Carolina University. She also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Duke University.

Mrs. Carleene Finger will serve as the inaugural principal of Enka Intermediate School. Dr. Baldwin describes Mrs. Finger as a leader, who brings the highest levels of experience, enthusiasm, and success to her new post of principal of Enka Intermediate School.
