Mr. Travis Collins

Mr. Collins grew up in and is proud to have served the entirety of his administrative career in the mountains of W.N.C.  Prior to becoming a school administrator Mr. Collins taught elementary school for six years and then went on to complete his Master’s degree in School Administration as a N.C. Principal Fellow at Western Carolina University. Following the completion of his M.S.A. he has served in a variety of school leadership positions as an assistant principal, an elementary school principal, a middle school principal, and as a high school principal. Mr. Collins is currently in the dissertation phase of his doctoral studies at E.T.S.U. where his focus of study is on the school administrator’s role in cultivating and sustaining the work of school-based professional learning communities.  

He is an avid fly fisherman, enjoys riding all kinds of bicycles, but most importantly loves spending time with his wife Melissa (also a public school educator), and their two children Jack and Ruthie.  Mr. Collins feels very blessed to serve the Enka-Candler/Hominy Valley community and looks forward to building positive relationships with his students and their families.
